catalog.json).
dev-geeks.com).

Privacy Policy — Mushaf Abdulrahman Alzwawy

In short
This app collects no data that identifies you, except whatever you choose to write in a feedback message you send. No accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting.
It does send anonymous usage statistics, so we can tell which parts of the app are actually used. You can turn them off in Settings → Privacy, and everything they cover is listed in its own section below.
What is stored, and where
Everything the app stores stays on your device and is never sent to any server (except a feedback message, which is waiting to be sent):
- Recitations you download for offline listening.
- Your last playback position (surah number and second), so playback resumes where you left it.
- Your settings: playback speed, autoplay, Wi-Fi-only downloads, theme, and whether usage statistics are on.
- The surah list and a cached copy of the audio catalogue (
catalog.json). - The latest copy of the notices file (
app-notices.json) and which notices you have closed, so the same one is not shown to you twice. - A feedback message sent while offline, kept on your device until a connection returns and it is delivered, then removed from it.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Network use
The app contacts the network for five purposes:
- Streaming and downloading the recitation files from the hosting service (Cloudflare R2, served from
dev-geeks.com). - Fetching the surah catalogue from the same service.
- Fetching a small notices file from the same service, which tells the app whether to ask you to update it, or to tell you about an announcement or maintenance.
- Sending the usage statistics described below — unless you have turned them off.
- Sending feedback you write, described below — only when you write it and press send.
The first three are requests for audio files, the catalogue and the notices file, and carry no identifier for you. As with any internet request, the hosting provider receives your device's IP address and user-agent; that is how networking works, and the app neither uses nor retains it.
Usage statistics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count what happens inside the app, and nothing more.
What is sent:
- Playing a surah — its number only — and which way in you used: the list, a voice command, or a retry.
- Starting a download, removing one, downloading the rest, or clearing all downloads.
- Which screen you opened: the list, the player, downloads, settings, or the feedback form.
- Changing a setting, and the value you changed it to.
- Setting a sleep timer, and for how long.
- Playback failing, and the general reason (surah unavailable, or playback failed).
What is never sent:
- Nothing you listen to: no recitation, no Quranic text, no surah name.
- Nothing you type into search, nothing you say to a voice command, and nothing you write in the feedback form.
- No name, email address, phone number, location, or contacts.
- No advertising ID and no device ID (SSAID). Both are explicitly switched off inside the app, and none of the above is used for advertising or ad personalisation.
Firebase creates a random installation identifier so that sessions can be counted. It is not linked to you or to any account, and it is gone when you uninstall the app. These events reach Google as a data processor acting for this app.
How to turn it off: Settings → Privacy → "Help improve the app". It takes effect immediately, survives closing and reopening the app, and changes nothing about listening or downloading.
Feedback you send
If you use "Send your feedback" (the message icon on the surah list, or Settings → About), the kind of feedback you pick and the message you write are sent to the developer through Google Cloud Firestore, with the app version, the Android version and the device model — the form shows that line before you send. A reply address or phone number is sent only if you type one into the reply field. Nothing is sent unless you press send.
Nothing you are listening to and no identifier for you or your device goes with it. Feedback is read by the developer only, is used only to answer you and to improve the app, is not shared with anyone, and is deleted on request to the contact address below. It is stored on Google's servers, with Google acting as a data processor for this app.
Permissions
- Notifications: to show the audio player and download status. Declining it does not prevent listening.
- Network access: for streaming and downloading.
- Foreground service: to keep playing with the screen off, which is what Android requires for background audio.
The app does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera, or access to your files.
Children
The app collects no data identifying any user, including children under 13 — unless a user chooses to include contact details in feedback — and shows and targets no advertising. The usage statistics above are anonymous and can be turned off in Settings.
